Annaprasanam

No.v 18 marked a great milestone in little Vidhyuthat's life - annaprasanam. With her sweet uncle being around, the family had a quiet, yet engaging ceremony at the Mahalingapuram Iyyappan temple.

Enjoyin the moment with mama & manni..

Nestled comfortably in Mama's lap..

Always looking at everyone curiously..

Thulabaram - feels like I am flying

Unfortunately, I could'nt be there but I was told cutie pie was at her well behaved best and truly kept the lord and everyone happy. Way to go vidhyutha !

Family luncheon- Only thought for food for Vidhyutha !

.. We also  managed to sneak out for a great family luncheon at probably the best south Indian restaurant in chennai - that's saying a lot in the land of maamy messes and mylapore hotels  - Annalakshmi. The place is a strong recommend for anyone aiming to fill their limitless stomachs on a lazy day. The food is served in the choicest silverware in true Tamilian style.

We had a great time gorging on some of the best sambhar, appalams, vatha kuzhambus you will ever get, a short wait notwithstanding. Vidhyutha, unfortuantely, could not have a speck of rice and poor little thing kept staring at us washing down all of that food. of course, she did get to taste a little of payasam and was the better for it - with her lips wanting for more !

Some pictures...

Dwarark mama's trip to India

After a long hiatus, dear Vidhu is back - and back with a whole host of updates. Vidhu's sweet uncle - Dwarak and his wife Divya made a whirlwind visit to rained out Chennai. with Chennai at its best for this time of the year, and Vidhyuthat at her well-behaved best, she sure did have a great time with all connections.

Here are some snaps of Vidhyutha coochie-cooing with her uncle and aunt. For a full 15 days, she certainly was the object of their muse - with their camera clicking away to capture her various moods. Find attached a few  snaps of her ride !

In between, I managed to take her out for a little ride around the apartment complex in her perch - the neat, little sling that allows her to take in the senses like a little bird flying at low altitude.

.. to be continued..

Vignettes from Vidhyutha's Thalai Diwali

Dear little one celebrated Diwali in style wearing a pattu pavadai etal. Here are some snaps of Vidhyutha's diwali

Ganga snanam + pattu pavadai + pattasu = frightened look !

.. smug in mother's arms..

...wearing the pink gown gifted by thathu with her ammamma and thathu

..trying to pose with thatha patti...
..enjoying the elevation from dad's shoulder...

.. lots of love for mama thatha Murali & family

All in all, amidst a busy, action packed day Vidhyutha found time for multiple visitors, many dresses and multiple cracker bursts, all without breaking into a tear ! I was surprised that she faced all the cracker noises with sufficient bravado and better still, even made time to look at a few fireworks, all with the wonderful serene look writ large on her face.
Till the next round of action next week (with her mama/maami eagerly expected), it's bye..

Come - fly with me

Little lovely princessi is at it, again. After a barrage of adventures indoors, it is time for her to put her feet up literally and take in some fresh air. What better way to do it than to amble across the balcony in the cosy pram gifted to her by Dwarak and Divya.

Too bad- I missed it; but I gather she was completely at ease and spent an hour marvelling at this wonderful world that is unfolding in front of her eyes. As she gathers strength and pace, the outdoor jaunts are only going to become too common.

Food for thought - solids for food !

My dearest Vidhyutha ate solid food for the first time on 11th October. Solid the food may have been, but she swallowed it with effortless ease. The portion that was prepared by her Grandmother was well liked by "cutie pie' who has been hitherto used to an "all liquid, sweet and healthy" diet. As if to cherish this memory, you will see her trying to clutch the spoon as she is eating her food.

certainly a moment to cherish for all of us ! Ah, look at the joy on the kidling after her wholesome meal. If that is'nt happiness, nothing else is !

Turning over !

Sweet love Vidhyutha turned over on October 5th.  It certainly was a sight to behold as all the days of untiring effort of Anusha and her mother helped her gather enough courage & strength to turn over. Of course, the journey does not quite stop here. She cries everytime she turns over - probably because she is egging herself on to do more. With her solid food diet beginning now, it is only a matter of time before she becomes a "complan girl".

Sadly, I was not around when this happened but it is nevertheless a moment to cherish forever. Watch these photos and let me know what you think.

Janmashtami

My dear Vidhu woke up on Janmashtami day to the delightful smell of mouth watering bakshanams. She decided to turn herself into a tiny, little adorable Krishna with a flute to boot. Thanks to her grandma and her mother, she was all decked up in a readymade little krishna costume, come evening with her little, graceful toes adorning the "kolams" made to welcome, well, Lord Krishna himself (or herself).

After lounging around for a while, thathu taught her to play the flute for a while. All this work and no play made her a little tired and she snoozed for a while on her favourite rocking chair before waking up refreshed.
She got up and was crowned  "Miss Janmashtami" with a nifty, little crown that was bought for her by her grandma.

check out the pictures of Vidhyutha's metamorphosis into Lord Krishna -

So that is the story of little Vidhu's transformation into Krishna - wait till the next year - she sure will turn into the naughty kid that Krishna was....

The day the earth stood still..

Hello world !

I know it is a little late but it is exactly 3 months to the date since little Vidhyutha peeped out of her mother's womb and said "Hi". Here it is - the first glimpse of  hers into this big, good world, well ensonced in the doctor's hands (Dr. Suryakala). The date was 12th June 2010 and it was just past 12 PM. This is her first photo - Hello World !

Everyone of her immediate family members, including grandparents and yours truly were eagerly waiting outside the operation room (oh, did I mention that her mom had to undergo a c-section). As soon as she came out, she was put in a respirator (for me to swallow in lungfuls of clean, energising oxygen, I am told).

Hmm... then one by one, everyone came and had a look at little Vidhyutha and her recuperating mother... So I will leave you with some photos to savour from the day of the "big bang"..and of course the doc who brought her into this world.

Ciao soon -
