US in the America

From a glorious fun filled 10 days in SF, we flew to NY  where we were received by the warm hospitality of Anitha and Sriram. Their simple house was  real poetry and full of positive energy and romance.

With Sriram Mama - the wonderful host

The first afternoon started off with a  NY city tour which allowed us to experience the sights and smells of the city without getting our feet dirty literally. We also got to experience NY in its night time starting from Times square - a glorious sight indeed.

The next day was spent with a ferry cruise to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island.

Mamma, my hand is aching

Ejaman kaladi man edathu.

That is Vidhu relaxing in the cool environs of the Statue of liberty lawns. She sure had a ball of a time socializing with visitors and after a wonderful, relaxing lunch containing puliyotharai and thayir satham made with love and care by Anitha/Sriram, we headed off to Ellis island which used to be point of immigration for all people into America.

Those intense eyes are piercing (photo of an early immigrant at Ellis island)

After another night of fitful rest, we headed off the next day to Central park zoo where Vidhu started off with a Dora show . This photo was taken just before the entry into the zoo.

Kiss to kick start the day with

And to wind up the day

Of all the animals in Central park zoo - Vidhu''s favorite "Polar Bear"

Thanks to Anitha and Sriram, who had a fabulous stock of home made food at our disposal that gave us the energy to keep our legs going, we had a fabulous time. With heavy hears, we made our way out of the airport - the memories will always linger on
